ALDHUIL
The Warrior, The Young Man, Our hero of the story
An orphan raised on the teachings of Kalahar and main protagonist. Aldhuil is loyal to his principles and believes himself to be inextricably linked with the forces of good. Inventive and adaptable he will do whatever it takes to realize Kalahar's ultimate dream: bringing everlasting peace into this world along with his trusty steed, Cuthail.
KALAHAR
Inventor
Brilliant inventor, Aldhuil's parent and lord of the fortress of Dain-Gealachan. Known as the "silent hermit" to the people of the valley because of his reculsiveness Kalahar is burdened with the mistakes of his past.
BRAYDEN
Former Thief
A dwarf who is Aldhuil oldest and trusted friend.
LUATHINE
The High Prosecutor
A Diaga and former prosecutor and now the lady of the Deadwoods, a secret prison hidden in the shadow of the mountains. As the "daughter of the sun" Luathine can bring flames to life to do her bidding. She seeks above all else to restore justice in this world.
FILEAS
Captain from the Outer Kingdom
From the small town of Ciorlochal on the outskirts of the Outer Kingdom. As captain, he helps the Outer Kingdoms wage war against the High King. Torn between his conciliatory nature and his duty as a soldier Fileas is one of the few people capabale of understand their enemy's point of view
PHIRINNAISTES
Spymaster
A Diaga who is as skilled with the bowstring as with the harp. Phirinnaistes uses his cover as a bard to keep watch over the human kingdoms. His many years as a spy have made him more capable of appreciating the viewpoint of others, even his enemies
LADY CIERA
Princess and Heir to the Human Throne
Daughter of the high king. She leads the Outer Kingdom in a civil war against her father and the New Religion. Raised as a warrior in her mother's native North, Ciera is also extremely skilled in diplomacy, a talent that has helped her bring rivals together and sowing doubt in the hearts of her enemies.
ERTIL
Master Swordsman
Smart and manipulative Ertil's knowledge of right and wrong was erased after an experiment that was suppose to help his people overcome their ultimate weakness. Believing he is the only one objective enough to see what is truely necessary in this world the diagar warlord juggles benevolence and terror to achieve his goals.
